April 25, 2007 - New Features Added
Browser Icon The latest versions of most web browsers show a small icon in the address bar for websites and on the web page tabs. This new site builder feature lets you set the browser icon. You can either choose one of the standard icons or upload your own .ico file.
Click view site, then click the settings button. Click the button to choose an icon from the icon library or upload your own .ico file.
Blog Comments Visitors to your website can post comments on your blog posts. When comments are posted, you will receive an email notification. You must approve comments before they are published on your website. To enable user comments, go to the blog settings page. For each blog post, you must check the enable comments box to allow visitors to post comments..
Mailing List Enhancements It is now easier for visitors to signup for your site mailing list. You can add a check box on any form (using the form builder) that will let a visitor add their email to your general mailing list when submitting the form. The new auto responder feature lets you setup a series of emails that will be automatically sent to your general mailing list subscribers. You can configure the emails to automatically be delivered at daily intervals.
Content Rotator Use the content rotator to setup a section of your web page that rotates/changes each time the page is viewed or have content that is set to display on specific dates. To enable content rotation, edit any page, click the add button and choose the content rotator from the design accents menu. Setup each of your content sections and add content.
Photo Display Components The photo display components have been enhanced to make it easier for you to upload photos and setup photo galleries/rotators. The new photo components support upload of multiple files and automatic gallery generation. You specify gallery settings (image sizes, layout, style and other properties) and the system will generate all the image files for the gallery.
Google Maps Place interactive Google maps on your site using the Google maps component. To use the component you must first obtain a map key from Google. NOTE: Currently the Google maps component is only supported for a single domain. If your site has multiple domain names then you can only have the map display on one of your domains.
Text & Styles We have reorganized some of the links on the design area and provided new options for customizing your text. The new "Text & Styles" area of the design manager includes links for setting up your page titles, group boxes, shopping cart as well as layout settings. NEW: You can now set your default style for your site text, site headings and links. This includes the font name, size, color and style attributes such as bold, italic and underline.
Edit your site, click the design button, then click the "text & styles" link.
Custom Font Names The standard text editor has been updated to allow you to specify your own font names for styling text. Your font names will appear in the font drop down selection list for the text editor, page titles and group boxes. IMPORTANT: If visitors to your site do not have a font installed on their computer, they will not be able to see the text in that font (text will be displayed in the default font for their browser)
Edit your site, click the settings button, then click the "Editor Settings" link on the left side of the page.
User Account Import/Export Export your user list and create/update user accounts by uploading a user import file. Use the import to set user account information and specify which user groups the account should be in.
Click the admin tab, then click the user accounts link. Click either the import or export link.
Page Name Format (dashes) Configure how spaces are handled in page names. To set the page urls, you can choose to have spaces replaced with either a "-" dash or a "_" underscore. To set the page name, view your site, click the settings button and then click the "editor settings" link. This setting only applies to newly created pages. Existing pages will not be changed.
Edit your site, click the settings button, then click the "Editor Settings" link on the left side of the page.

User FTP Accounts If you need to have a place to exchange files with customers, you can enable the User based FTP accounts option. When this option is enabled, customers can login to an FTP account on your site and transfer files. To enable user based FTP accounts, click the "user account settings" link and check the "Enable FTP access for user accounts" box.
Message Board Enhanced to allow message board posts to include formatted text.
Sitemaps.org (Google sitemaps) Many of the top search engines now allow you to provide them with a sitemap of all the pages on your site. Having a sitemap does not increase your search rankings, but it does help the search engines index your site. You can also view additional information about your site through the search engine tools when using a sitemap. To learn more, edit your site. Click the settings link and then click the "search engines" link.
File Upload Utility - Preview Use the File Upload Utility to view a list of files on your website, transfer large files (larger than 20mb) and to upload multiple files at the same time. The File Upload Utility is a java application that you can run from the site builder. A link to the file upload utility is available from the file manager and the image gallery components. Requirements: you must have Java Version 5 or greater installed. You can download the latest version of Java by going to http://www.java.com.
Ecommerce: Wishlist To enable the wish list feature, go to the store manager page. Click the shopping cart settings link and check the "Wish list/gift registry" box. With the wish list feature your site users can add any product on your site to their wishlists. Users can use the wishlist to save the items for purchase at a later date or they can give their email addresses to friends/family to purchase items off of the list. This feature can also be used as a gift registry. Users can setup an account, add items to their list and specify how many of a each item they would like. The system tracks purchases and will remove items from the wish list once all the requested quantities have been purchased.
To enable wishlists, go to the store manager, click shopping cart settings and check the "Wish list/Gift Registry" option.
Ecommerce: Generate U.S.P.S. shipping labels On the order management pages you can click an option to generate a printable U.S.P.S. shipping label for your order. To print labels you must have a U.S.P.S. Web tools account and contact U.S.P.S to enable your account for production delivery confirmation and express mail labels. You must add your own postage fees to the shipping labels.
Ecommerce: Copy Product It is now easier to setup a large number of products that have similar descriptions/options. Once you setup a product you can use the "copy this product" button to create a copy of a product. You can then edit the copied product entry and make any necessary modifications.

PayPal Payments Pro Support added for the PayPal Payments Pro service. Integrate your store shopping cart with PayPal Payments Pro. The PayPal Pro payment service allows customers to choose to have an integrated checkout experience at your website or to go directly to PayPal to purchaes products/services from your website. PayPal Pro requires that you have a properly configured PayPal business account.
To enable PayPal Payments Pro, go to the store manager, click the "Payment methods/merchant account" link and choose "PayPal Payments Pro" from the list of avaiable gateways on the right side of the page. Click the set button.

TRIAL DESIGN SELECTION UPDATES
We are enhancing the design selection pages in the trial signup area to show a significantly greater number of options/designs to customers and to allow customers to start creating a truly custom design before completing the trial signup process.
Design categories page: The first page of the design pages displays a list of categories of designs. Customers can choose a category that meets their needs. On the right side of the page there is a design search feature which can be used to find designs with specific keywords or with attributes, such as a "clean design" or "menu on the side"
Select design page: After choosing a category, customers will be presented with different design options using layouts and banners that match the selected category. The designs are displayed in different colors with unique page layouts and logos. Customers can choose the "select" option to choose the design or select the "customize" option to change the design settings.
Customize design page: The customize design page displays a larger preview image and allows the customer to change the banner, site layout, colors, and customize the logo graphic/text. When any change is made the system automatically generates a new preview image to match the newly selected options. From the design page customers click the "next - trial signup" link to create their account.
DESIGN UPDATES
Many new banners, groupboxes and logos have been added to the system. The page titles have been enhanced to allow customers to choose a title style and to choose a custom graphic. Page titles also now support 2 colors of text. The first part of the title text in one color and the second part of the title text can be displayed in another color.
IMAGE MANAGEMENT
One of the challenges that many customers face when creating their websites is uploading and managing images. They need to get the files loaded and make sure that they are sized correctly for the pages that they are working on. The new update contains many enhancements in the image management and selection area.
The main image editor/select page has been updated to include the following options:
Advanced image upload: From the advanced image upload page customers can choose what directory images are uploaded to. This will upload the image directly to a subdirectory of the main image directory. With the directory option, customers that have a large number of images can easily organize them using directories. The new advanced upload also provides integrated resize options. Before uploading an image customers can select a size for the image and choose a size for a thumbnail. Once the image is uploaded, it will be resized to match the customer settings and can automatically generate a thumbnail. The system remembers the settings so they do not have to be re-entered for each upload. Customers can setup their own sizes or use the default sizes that are provided. The advanced upload makes it very easy to load a large number of images on your site and have them set to the desired/same size.
Image manager: The image selection pages for the image library and uploaded images have been enhanced to make it much easier to find and manage uploaded image files. Customers can choose to 3 different views for uploaded images (filenames, small preview images, or full size images). The new sorting option displays the uploaded files and sorts them by name, size, or date.
Image dimensions are displayed (ex. 324x200). Customers can use the quick alpha sort to display all the images that start with the selected letter. A create directory function has been added so that customers can create subdirectories directly from the image list by entering a directory name and clicking the create directory button.
Image gallery/product editor: Both the image gallery and product editor have been updated to use the new advanced upload. For the image gallery this allows customers to upload an image, have it resized to the correct dimensions and the automatically generate a thumbnail image. In one step a thumbnail and detail image can be added to the image gallery. For the product edit pages the advanced upload will set the small image and the detail image. Both of these sections will still provide the options for customers to individually select images just as they do now.
IMAGE TOOLS:
The image resize options have been moved into a link called "Image Tools" on the main image edit/selection page. The resize by percentage options are still available, but 2 new options have been added.
Dynamic resize: The dynamic resize lets customers either enter the specific dimensions or dynamically resize the image by grabbing the border of the image with the mouse and dragging the edge.
Quick resize: The quick resize page lets customers have a list of commonly used sizes (portrait, landscape, and square). To resize an image, just click the link with the desired dimensions.
Crop tool: We now have crop to crop images directly from the site builder. To use the crop tool, customers just need to select the crop range and move it with their mouse.
Thumbnail generator: When editing an image customers can click a link to generate a thumbnail image. They choose from a list of sizes. When viewing an image the thumbnail is always displayed to the right of the main image.
For all the image tools there is an apply button and a preview button which lets customers see a preview before they make their changes live.
PAGE EDITOR
Page group links: For customers that use page groups, we now have our page groups link menu available. This is a new component in the links section that creates a menu/links list to all the pages in a page group. Customers can choose to display the current page group, select a specific page group or to show product categories. The list can be customized to show just links, links with a bullet graphic, or the list can be displayed in a drop down format with a view button. Basically this component allows customers to create more menus/site navigation and place them the site bar areas of their sites. When a page is added to a page group it is automatically displayed on the site in the page group menu.
New page layouts: We have added several new page layouts that will display divider bars between the sections. From the site settings, customers can choose to have dotted, or solid line dividers on these pages.
PAGE LIST
Customers can now create copies of an existing page. From the page list, click the copy page option. Enter a name for the new page and click the select link to choose the page that you want to copy. There are 2 options for copying pages - one option creates new copies of each component on the new page. The second option uses the same components so that if an update is made, the change shows up on all the copied pages.
ECOMMERCE
Froogle export: the froogle export has been enhanced to include the text description as well as the product category.
Enhanced product search: The updated product search allows shoppers to choose the sort type (alpha, relevance or price) To enable the new search options the search index may need to be rebuilt. The search index can be rebuilt by editing any product search box component.
