As we decide to follow Christ in our lives, we learn that there are several components to our faith. Belief is more than a static statement, it is a journey. We at Galena Church have committed to walk this journey together in three basic categories. We invite you to explore and discover God at work in your life.

| Before we knew anything about God, God loved us. The grace of God has been with us since before our birth. We all reach a point in life where we realize that we need God. We can not live life alone, we can not save ourselves from our sin. Only God can do that.
Our journey of faith begins the moment in which we understand ourselves loving God as he has loved us. At the heart of faith is a desire to know God more.
We express this desire to know God through worship and personal devotion.

| As we move through the journey of faith we realize how important it is to be connected with other people moving in the same direction. When Jesus was engaged in ministry, he gathered a small group of twelve people to share life with. In that small group setting, the first disciples learned together about the awesome power of God.
The church is not a collection of individuals, rather it is truly a community. It is not enough for us to simply come to worship and then go home. Following Jesus is about living a life of faith. The more we join together with others on the journey, the better able we are grow.
Small groups give us the opportunity to learn together and share life with one another.

| Jesus preached often about what the kingdom of God is like. One of the most common phrases is "You've heard it said before, but I say..." The kingdom that Jesus ushered in is radically opposed to the world that seeks personal gain. Over and over Jesus lifted up the idea that we learn to suffer so that others might gain.
The Gospel of Jesus, the Good News is a social Gospel. We are called to go and make a difference in this world by serving others. At this point, the journey of faith becomes a cycle. When we serve others, they see the goodness of God through us and can then begin to love God as well.
